a first letter in the box

So this is it! I started a blog. Who'd have thought it's be so easy to step out on the internet? The feeling I have now reminds me most of the tense inside moment at either end of an escalator, in the days when legs were smaller and stairs less reliable. And we were always telling each other to jump! jump! in case our toetips got caught.

Now that I'm here for the first time, I find there's very little to say. It's Friday. The building's empty. Nothing much happened today but rain - except just a flash of total blue, a kingfisher like the flip of a coin while I was out in the mist this morning.
